Riding the coattails of people’s bizarre interest in the Twilight saga, Immortal Romance was a slot that provided the theme and story that made this first release a mega-hit for the original developer, Microgaming. More than a decade later, Games Global (new license holder of old Microgaming slots) greenlit the release of Immortal Romance II, now developed by Stormcraft Studios.
Immortal Romance II was a very long time coming. Kudos to the first Immortal Romance slot for being in the public eye for so long. Offshoots of the first game did involve Immortal Romance Megaways, Immortal Romance Bingo, Immortal Romance Mega Moolah, and Immortal Romance Scratch. This was all indicative of how much players wanted to see of this game, which was somewhat of an innovation at the time.
So, here we are, Immortal Romance II. In this review, I face the sequel as a real money game. I share my experience and touch on and reveal details about how the game plays and how the software is programmed. I discuss the available bonus feature, how the game is designed, and what can potentially be won.
You can experience the Immortal Romance II slot by Stormcraft Studios yourself, with the free demo that comes with this review. If you like the game, then Casinos.com can guide you to the top casino sites providing real money slots.
Immortal Romance II comes with a new look but retains the same 3-row, 5-reel layout that comes with the same 243 ways to win feature as the original Immortal Romance slot. However, this time, there is the inclusion of Rolling Reels, which is the same as saying that Immortal Romance II is a Tumbler game, but Stormcraft Studios wants it named differently.
Immortal Romance II also retains the bloodline progression bar. Plus, there is no hiding that this slot comes with four character jackpots.
Immortal Romance II got it right, so fans of the original slot will be pleased that Stormcraft Studios didn’t ruin the saga.
When the game loads, adjust the wagering value that’s paid per spin to suit your budget. The slot defaults at $1 per spin, but prices start from $0.10 and rise to an amount of $20. Once selected, press the spin button to the right of the game to begin playing. Wins are made by landing matching symbols across adjacent reels. You must have three or more to qualify for a win.
The high-value symbols are Sarah, Amber, Troy, and Michael (original characters from the first game). Then the book, the gate, and the fountain. The lower-valued symbols are A, K, Q, J, and 10.
When a win is made, those symbols are removed from the reels, and new symbols roll into the game. This allows for new winning formations to be created, which can lead to consecutive wins being made. As this is a Ways to Win feature slot, it means that symbols can be duplicated within a single symbol section of the reel. This increases the number of symbols in play, raising the number of ‘ways to win’, thus, influencing the potential to win.
These are merely the basics of playing; there is much more to the special features and bonuses.
I played the game with my bets set at $2 per spin and did this over 50 spins. The gameplay is good; many features help to expand the game time, especially with the Rolling Reels feature. Halfway through my 50 spins, and I am still breaking even. So far, my biggest win after 25 spins is $9.20.
Into the second half of my 50 spins, I landed a single Blood Drop several times but no second one to activate the feature. I also landed 2 Scatters, coming close to unlocking the free spins. Fewer wins landed in my last 25 spins, and by the end, I wasn’t able to cash out any winnings.
Immortal Romance II is a very calm game when in the base game mode, and sadly I didn’t get beyond this into the bonus rounds.
The RTP is 96.30% with a high volatility setting. Each character hosts a jackpot prize:
Gems will appear on character symbols that are then collected by each corresponding jackpot. The more collected, the higher the chance of triggering the bonus Jackpot Wheel. This takes you one step closer to a big payout. The biggest win is 15,000 times your betting amount.
Immortal Romance II got it right, so fans of the original slot will be pleased that Stormcraft Studios didn’t ruin the saga. If you like to try some other vampire slots, then I recommend the following:
